Catch problems before stores do.

Stores reject releases for small, avoidable reasons. This validator flags the common ones in your title and artist fields before you submit.

Understand it, not just check it

Why this matters

Metadata is how every store, playlist, and royalty system identifies your music. Stores match, display, and pay based on these exact fields, so a small formatting slip can mean a rejection, a misattributed stream, or a delayed payout.

How it affects your release

Clean metadata sails through review and goes live on schedule. Messy metadata gets kicked back, costs you your release date, and can split your streams across duplicate artist profiles.

Common mistakes

  • ·Writing a featured artist inside the title instead of the featured field.
  • ·ALL CAPS titles, which Apple and others normalize or reject.
  • ·Stray leading, trailing, or double spaces copied from a phone or doc.
  • ·Putting your own artist name in the track title.

Best practices

  • ·Use clean title case and put version info in parentheses, e.g. "(Live)".
  • ·Keep one primary act in the artist field; guests go in the featured field.
  • ·Match the spelling and casing of your existing artist profile exactly.
  • ·Remove emoji and decorative symbols from titles and names.

Ship clean metadata every time.

HypaLabs checks your metadata as part of review, so issues are caught before delivery.
